Movie Mistakes

I read about the movie mistakes that they made in Anchorman and Step Brothers, and it is pretty ironic how often these things really happen, and it is even more odd that people realize all of these things! In the movies that I saw, there was about 30 or 40 minor mistakes, but I saw that the Pirates of the Carribean movie had over 300 mistakes! That is crazy how that many errors can go unseen by many people, and that some people can realize them, and then after that, you always see them. It almost seems like you are looking for them once you find out about them!

A Girl’s Nude Photo, and Altered Lives

This story is quite unique, because it is something that everyone knows it is happening, but not much is really said about the matter. It is an odd topic, but I think it is good that kids should know that they will be punished for it. To most kids, I am sure that kids think that they are pretty cool when they get pictures like that, but in reality, it could get them into a lot of trouble. The fact that people are geting in trouble is right, and they should be punished for what is wrong.

Pilates Video

I liked the camera view when they interviewed the black guy, and how he was in the crane thing that he normlayy works in, it just kind of made it feel like it was in a comfortable environment for him, and everyone watching. I also liked the B-Roll that they showed the shots they had of them actually doing the pilates, showing the way that they did them on the job.

Goose and Man/Demo Video

That is actually crazy. I have seen things where it is a dog and a tiger, and I thought that was bizarre! But seeing a man have conversations with a goose, and feel a bond with it, just makes me laugh with astonishment! I could never have believed that if I didn't see it! That is actually the coolest thing I have seen in a while, and am really happy for that guy. I also liked how the cameraman viewed the fisherman video, telling us a little bit about him, and letting us get to know him better, then teaching us about what the news in that story was.

Eastview baseball has always been thought of as an intimidating team to play. By the sounds of it, this year should be no different.

I caught up with a few kids from the 9th Grade A team last year and what their thoughts are for their upcoming year, and the family they have built by playing baseball.

Joe Schlosser has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. He has never even had the thought of quitting, solely based on the pure love of the game.

“It’s a fun time to hang out with friends and play sports that we love to do. We all know how to have fun, but at the same time, are able to focus on the task at hand, which is winning games.”

Josh Chatfield is the same way. Growing up, he always loved playing ball, and would always jump at the chance to try new things.

“I play 2nd base, pitcher, outfield, and the occasional left-bench. I think the team uses me to my full potential, and I think so too, considering we have done well in the past.”

Everyone wants to win, but no one knows more about the art of winning than Grant “Cheese” Martinson. He has always thought of things that the team needs to do in order to win, and this year is no different.

“To score 5 or more runs every game. I think that is reachable, considering that we have had a really great offense all these years, and it should stay the same way!”

With the winning attitudes that these guys and the rest of their teammates have, I don’t see how this team of brothers, couldn’t have another successful season. For the Flash, this is Derek Schiebel.

Zack Greinke (rib) may start year on DL

The young promising season for the Milwaukee Brewers is not starting out entirely as expected. Their star pitching acquisition over the offseason Zack Greinke has injured his rib and will start the season on the 15-Day DL. He injured his rib after playing in a pick up basketball game after one of the teams games this spring. While it may not seem like such a big deal, to us Brewer fans, learning our star pitcher won't be with us to start the year is a little brutal, but hopefully we can stay tough, and fight through those first 2-3 weeks with a strong winning record!

English Quiz

I got 10 out of 10! It wasn't that hard I didn't think, and it obviouslty showed! It was a fairly easy topic to learn, and I was very quick to learn it!

Changing Passive to Active Voice Notes

  • To make it into an active voice, you need to answer the "by the..." question, by saying who did the action that you are tryin gto describe.
  • You should be able to have two versions of a sentence, an active one, and then one that may not sound as good, or does not have the same affect.
  • It should sound you are interested in the topic, and know what you are talking about.

Buckeyes widen poll lead over Kansas

After their huge win over Wisconsin this week, the Buckeyes have solidified their spot at the top of the polls, improving their lead over Kansas even more than last week. The biggest losers in this past week were Villanova (my team), Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Texas A&M, all of which fell out of the Top 25. The top teams following Ohio State are Kansas, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Duke. BYU took a huge hit from the loss of one their better players and dropped from 3 to 8 in the ranking. A big winner was Kansas State, the Pre-season number 3 ranked team in the nation is finally showing what they are made of, returning to the Top 25 in the 19th rank, first time since Week 10, which came out on January 10th. I give all teams, especially Villanova, the best of luck going into their conference tournaments this week, as all of America gets ready for MArch Madness to soon begin.

No. 1 Ohio State rips Wisconsin in Big Ten finale

Ohio State, the numebr one team in the nation, showed why tehy were number one yesterday. As a team, they hit 14 of 15 three pointers, including 7 of 8 froim John "Three-bler" Diebler. Afterwards, after the game ended in a blow out, 93-65, Diebler said,"I apologize for missing that one," which led to the entire locker room laughing loudly. After their upset of the then undefeated Ohio State team earlier, the Badgers came in with an edge, but the Buckeye's had home court advantage, and the determination to com eback and even out the season series. They had alreaddy clinched the Big Ten Title from an Iowa win against Purdue, but this game was for pride, and afterwards, the Buckeye's came out with a little more of that than the Badgers of Madison.

High School Basketball Star Dies on Court

At a Michigan High School, the happiness of clinching a perfect season came at a very big price. 16-year-old Wes Leonard died on the court after hitting the game winning layup in overtime to clinch a perfect season. He was able to hit the shot, celebrate with his teammates, shake the others teams hands, and then get carried by his teammates on the court, being the hometown hero for te night, then suddenly collapsed walking off the court. The medics there tried to help, but couldn't do anything, dying in the hopsital later that night. The cause is unknown, and hopefully the team can overcome this obstacle and keep their season going, with Wes in mind all they way.

New Interview Questions

People I will interview:

Joe Schlosser - SophomoreStud

How did you feel about your season last year?
It was a fun time to hang out with friends and play sports that we love to do. We all know how to have fun, but at the same time, are able to focus on the task at hand, with winning games.”
What are your expectations for the team this year?
That we should win some games and for all of us to do our best, like we always do every year.
What is the best part about Eastview baseball?
Having (Coach) Holle as our coach this year! It should be a blast, considering we are all really close and Holle is a fun guy to hang out with.

Josh Chatfield - Sophomore Superman

What was your favorite part about last year?
The tournament that we hosted was a pretty fun way to hang out with the team. We also got to talk to the other guys from the other teams.
What positions do you love to play?
I play 2nd base, pitcher, outfield, and the occasional left-bench. I think the team uses me to my full potential, and I think so too, considering we have done well in the past.”
What is the best part about Eastview baseball?
The coaching staff. Definitely. They are always there for you to help and support you even if you are slumping.

Grant Martinson - Sophomore Strike-out Pitcher

What do you want to do better in your upcoming season?
Make less errors. I didn't make that many last year, but there is always room for improvement.
What are your goals for the team this year?
To score 5 or more runs every game. I think that is reachable, considering that we have had a really great offense all these years, and it should stay the same way
What is the best part about Eastview baseball?
I think our field is pretty cool. Coaches are very helpful also, but I really like our fields.

5 Things I Learned from The Interview Course

1. Write a list of 5 to 6 questions that your readers would ask if they heard about this issue.
2. Be sure that you ask them open ended questions to them, so they can explain their answers
3. Ask a question and then stop. Don't apologize for a question you ask.
4. Off the record means many things, but most people take it as not printing what is said when they are talking off record.
5. Questions are the interviewers most important tool during the interview.

BYU Dismisses Player From Basketball Team for Having Premarital Sex

BYU, a smaller conference school from the Mountain West, just got ranked 3rd overall in the entire nation, and they are already on the decline. They lost their game against New Mexico 82-64 after they got the new ranking, but that may not even be the biggest obstacle in their way. They dismissed their third best scorer, and leader in rebounds and blocks per game, Brandon Davies. And for a unique reason, premarital sex with someone. It is against the Student Honor Code for BYU, and so far he has been able to stay in school, just not on the basketball team anymore. It truly is a said story, and hopefully we will see him in the near future, and hopefully, playing basketball, because it is apparent that they really do need more than just Jimmer.

Eastview, Eagan share lead in SSC boys basketball

As of right now, the Lightining of Eastview and the Wildcats of Eagan are atop the South Suburban Conference in boy's basketball, with a record in the conference of 13-3. This marks the first time all year Lakeville South has not had at least a share in the lead, as they are now 12-4 after a loss in the last seconds of their game against Eastview on Friday. That game on Friday marked the thrid time in a row that our Lightning held the powerful Cougars to 50 points or less, which makes Coach Gerber very proud. "In our league, we play teams so much that we know each other's stuff," Gerber said. "Games like this are usually going to be lower-scoring." And they were, and even with the low scoring matches that have ben happening, Eastview can now say that with a record of 19-4 overall, they are leading the challenging South Subruban Conference.

Clippers Trade Baron Davis to Cavaliers for Mo Williams, Jamario Moon

The Clippers are trying to keep up with all of the big time trades that have been happening this week, such as Carmelo Anthony and Deron Williams. Well, they didn't get someone of that standard, but they did receive Mo Williams and Jamario Moon for the price of an un-happy point guard in Baron Davis, and a 2011 first round pick. It should really help out what the Clippers are trying to do with their young and fast-paced style of attack. Now they will be able to play rookie point guard, Eric Bledsoe, who has a lot of talent, and still be able to have Mo Williams play, who was an all-star last year. I think that the trade the Clippers have made may push them over the edge, and help them get the seven or eight seed in the upcoming NBA Playoffs.

Wisconsin Power Play

I feel as if Paul Ryan is not the brightest bulb on the Christmas Tree. He did know however how the aspect of what is happening in Madison right now could be compared to what had happened in Cairo. I don't think that the situation will become any better in the near future, solely based on what we have seen happen before in these situations. By trying to get rid of the unions, and the fleeing of some Democrats, has impacted the city and state into utter turmoil. It may be reported that it is all about the budget, but it seems like it is all about the power involved with the governor, and if he doesn't try to make a compromise soon, things could get way out of hand.

Albert Pujols, Cardinals Contract Deadline Passes With No Deal

The deadline for Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals to reach a new contract agreement passed, and Pujols is still not signed. This makes it likely the three-time MVP will test the free-agent market after the season. To the Cardinal fans, this is quite devastating, because for a middle-income city to have such an all-star as Pujols is rare and they have been very happy with what they have done with him on the team in the past few years. It ended up coming down to money, after Pujols wanted almost $30 million a year, which would have easily made him the highest payed player in the majors. While many consider him one of the greatest hitters of his era, $30 million is still a lot of money, and for one single player, too much. He will be making a mere $14 million this year, and will likely test the free agent market at the upcoming offseason, in search of a new home, and more money than anyone in the baseball world has seen come in, in one year before.

Brazil's Ronaldo announces retirement from soccer

Everyone remembers when the greatest athlete of a sport retires, and yesterday was no different. The soccer great, Ronaldo, age 34, annouinced his retirement from soccer yesterday, after 18 years in the sport. In his career, he won FIFA player of the year three times, and is the all-time leading goal scorer in World Cup History. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest soccer players of all-time, if not the greatest. Also, his goals were not just goals, they were amazing. He bent them around many defenders, and left many goalies dumbfounded throughout his career, and he will always be remembered for his great ability.

Wild finally feeling at home at the X

Last night, the Minnesota Wild took on the Colorado Avalanche at the mighty Xcel Energy Center, and they won in a closely heated battle, 3-2. It was an important game to the team, as of now they are 8th in the Western Conference, the last place to get into the playoffs. It was also quite an important game to Andrew Brunette, who had recently played in his 1,000th career game, and last night, he got his celebration that he deserved. This was his 1,003rd game, but their first home game since he got the accomplishments. In the pre-game, they had a bunch of well known friends and teammates of "Bruno" say how proud of him they were, and his parents and wife got some gifts for him, as did his teammates. Overall a great night for the team, and "Bruno".

UConn QB’s trick-shot video

Johnny McEntee, the Universtiy of Conneticut's quaterback this past year, can do more then just throw to his teammates. Recently, he posted a 4:50 video of him and his teammates setting up sick trick shots, and Johnny hitting them every time. If you want the link, look below, and I really recommend  it. It was pretty entertaining to see just an every day guy, playing what he loves, and still having fun with it. In the video, you see him throwing the ball to; open a door from 30 yards away, hitting a billiars cue stick and hitting it into a ball and hiting into a pocket, and also has him up at the top of a dome, and throwing the ball into a bucket at the 40 yard line down below. If you want to see this great quarterback showing off his talents, you can click on link below.

College Coach Donates Kidney to Baseball Player

In this heart-warming story, it shows the bond between a coach and his players on, and off, a baseball field. In January of 2010, Kevin Jordan, a freshman at the University of Wake Forest was diagnosed with ANCA vasculitis, which causes his white blood cells to attack healthy body tissues. He was drafted by the New York Yankees, but had already made a commitment to Wake Forest, so he decided to go tehre. After hearing about the diesease, they realized that he needed a new kidney, but sadly, none of his family was a match. So then Kevin's baseball coach, Tom Walter, heard about the news, and oddly enough, he was a match. So without a second to waste, he told Kevin that he would be happy to give him a kidney. After this, they organized the surgeries and last we heard, they went well, and Kevin is doing good. Walter should eb ready for their Feb. 18 opener, while Kevin is hoping to be able to do light weight lifting soon, and get back into shape. It truly is a touching story.

The Chrysler 200 has arrived, Imported from Detroit
The new volkswagon
There is none
Was the message effective? Why or why not?
I think so, but it was a little too long
Yes, it showed how a car commercial could be funny
Yes, they used humor and hyperbole to describe Doritos

Super Bowl Ads

This year to me, was a year of not so good ads. Overall, there was probably 5 legitimate ones all Super Bowl. I really liked the Doritos ones, the careerbuilder.com one, the Pepsi Max one with the wife and husband, and the one with Ozzy Osbourne and Justin Bieber. To me, those were the ones that actually made me laugh, and frankly, I'm a little disappointed in this year's commercials. Last year, there were at least 10 commercials that really made me laugh, and this year, really let me down. Hopefully they can come back strong next year, and maybe have a little less car commercials.

Obsessions: It's good to be a Smith kid

If you think Will Smith was a big deal, you should take a look at his kids accomplishments! It started when Jaden, Will's son, starred in the movie "Karate Kid", with Jackie Chan. It was a remake of an old classic, and it hit it huge! They ended up with a gross of $359 million in total! On the soundtrack of that movie, there was a song by Justin Bieber that also showed off Jaden's rapping skills in it. Then there is Willow Smith, the younger sister of Jaden, who released her number one hit, "Whip My Hair". She will be going on tour with "The Biebs", just like Jaden will be going to the Grammys to perform in his song with Usher and Justin Bieber this February 13th. So as you can see, it must be pretty good to be a Smith kid.

Cavaliers: Worst Team Ever?

The Cavaliers are in one of the worst slumps in pro sports history. Ever since LeBron James left this summer, they have ben having a terrible season. They are in the midst of a 22 games losing streak as I post this very post. Will it ever stop? It appears that they should win a game some time, but you never know. It could be their next game, their game next week, next month, maybe we will have to wait until next season! At the moment they are 8-41, and are on pace for a 14-68 season. That will be the worst in team history by far, and lead to a very disappointed GM, who promised a championship without the great James. Well, it sure won't happen this year, and if this year is any indication, they will not be winning one anytime soon...
